A few weeks back, Honey, after having a heart catheter procedure, had to lie down flat, no movement for FOUR HOURS. He was forbidden to turn his head, move his legs, lift his arms, etc. He couldn't watch television either because of where the TV screen was located on the wall.
Things had to be adjusted first. His bed and sheets were adjusted. Even all the IVs. Once his pillow(comfort) was removed he became really anxious and quite uncomfortable. Our bed pillows are like the things and people in life that help ease the pains and disappointments in lives...for many of us pillow lovers, WE CANNOT rest without our pillows, if we are to rest comfortably. I reminded Honey that the stillness was only for 4 hours not a lifetime. I encouraged him to take a deep breath and go with the flow because once the time has come for him to move again, HE WOULD BE BETTER FOR adhering to THE STILLNESS. How many of us have been made to BE STILL for a season and experienced this same type of emotional and spiritual discomfort? We move our emotions to the forefront and sound reasoning to the back burner. We begin to think that God has left us and no one is concerned about our silent season. We declare a loss over our lives when God has only declared a pause.(did you feel that in your SHONDO too???) Beautiful people, if you are in this season, first and foremost, CHANGE YOUR MIND(be renewed), rest in knowing that God has a plan with your name on it. You will reap if you do not SPAZZ. Get the much needed rest you need while you pause. Change your thoughts to ACCEPT what you cannot change. Ask for wisdom to know the difference. Be better BECAUSE OF your still season. Being uncomfortable is a great part of our healing and growth process. Trust God. Be peaceful. He's got your back. When it's time to get serious, you work EACH & EVERY angle you have to COMPLETE what you started!
